Doing a ski instructor course with SnowSkool has to be the coolest vocational qualification out there. Our ski instructor courses take place in both the northern hemisphere – Canada, France and the USA as well as in the southern hemisphere – New Zealand. Regardless of your background, your timetable and your budget, SnowSkool’s range of ski instructor courses will have something that appeals to everyone. In Big Sky, you have a truly BIG mountain experience, it’s all about the luxurious ski-in/ ski-out accommodation in Big White, over in Banff the après-scene is insane, the Three Valleys is popular for those wanting to ski the world’s largest ski area and in New Zealand…you’ll just love New Zealand…everyone does!

The primary difference between the short and long courses is…well, roughly, about 6 weeks! Season-long ski instructor courses last from 9 to 12 weeks and skiers will train for the Level 2 ski instructor qualification. Broadly speaking, the Level 2 qualification will enable you to work as a ski instructor throughout the world but, not only that, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself into the life of a seasonnaire and work on all aspects of your skiing and overall alpine education: freestyle, race training, avalanche awareness, backcountry touring and first aid training. SnowSkool’s season-long ski instructor courses take place in Banff, Big Sky, Big White, the Three Valleys and Treble Cone.

Can’t take the time out to do a season? Fear not…SnowSkool also runs a variety of shorter ski instructor courses! The short courses last from 2 to 5 weeks and your ski training will be geared towards the BASI (France) or CSIA (Canada) Level 1 qualification. These qualifications will be sufficient to see you working as a ski instructor in Andorra, Canada, Japan, UK and the USA. Anyone like the big mountain experience? Methinks you’re going to like Big Sky in Montana – 5500 acres of some of the sickest terrain makes it the largest ski hill in the USA, 35ft of powder in the average winter means you are going to get hammered by snow and 4350ft of vertical ensures that your thighs muscles will be bursting out of your skin. But, on the softer side of things, the luxury slopeside accommodation should help you relax and recuperate!
