Level 1 & 2 Ski
Instructor Courses
SnowSkool offers a variety of season-long ski instructor courses from 10 weeks in Cardrona, New Zealand to 11 weeks in either Big White, Canada or Three Valleys, France and on to our flagship 13-week program in Banff, Canada.
All season-long ski instructor courses offer ski tuition to take participants through Level 1 and onto Level 2 of the relevant ski instructor qualifications of that country. Additional ski qualifications available on the season-long courses include Freestyle Coach, Race Coach as well as First Aid and Avalanche Awareness certificates.

As well as the ski instructor qualifications, season-long SnowSkool students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life of a ski seasonnaire. The resorts we have selected will satsify the needs of all SnowSkool students - if you fancy a road-trip to nearby ski hills, a spot of heli- or cat-skiing, a game of ice hockey, some backcountry touring, bungee jumping or simply a nice relaxing season then SnowSkool has a ski instructor course to suit you.
Level 1 Ski
Instructor Courses
If you are not on a gap year or career break and can not take the time off to do a 10-14 week ski instructor course, fear not…SnowSkool offers a variety of shorter ski instructor courses. These courses last for four or five weeks and still result in a ski instructor qualification.
Currently the short ski instructor courses are only available in Banff or Big White in Canada and these courses result in the CSIA Level 1 ski instructor qualification. This is sufficient to allow you to work as a ski instructor in Australia, Canada, Japan and the USA as well as a few smaller countries.
Many people regard the short ski instructor courses more as ski improvement courses. We believe the best way to improve your skiing is not only by learning to ski like a ski instructor but also by starting to think like a ski instructor. Understanding the biomechanics of skiing and analysing your own skiing is a sure way to improve your ski technique not only in the short term but also for many years to come.
And ultimately, by earning your ski instructor qualification, you will be able to teach skiing to friends and family members alike.
