SBINZ Snowboard Instructor Qualifications

SnowSkool's snowboard instructor course in New Zealand runs on the South Island at Treble Cone resort. Conforming to the local standard, SnowSkool trains you to the standards and exams set down by the Snowboard Instructors of New Zealand (SBINZ). SBINZ is an active member of the International Snowboard Instructors’ Alliance (ISIA). The ISIA tries to draw up equivalency between the exam standards of different country qualifications - and upholds members to work as snowboard instructors internationally.



NEW ZEALAND SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS WITH SNOWSKOOL

New Zealand Snowboard Instructor - SBINZ Level 1


The SBINZ Level 1 is a five-day modular course that focuses on a candidates snowboarding technique and their ability to teach snowboarding. Candidates need to demonstrate the ability to perform dynamic turns on and off-piste, be comfortable on black runs and demonstrate basic freestyle movements. You must be able to ride all blue runs with good form and using an efficient blend of movements as well as demonstrating smooth switch riding on green terrains.

Employment: In Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Japan, UK (snowdomes & dryslopes) and the USA


SBINZ Snowboard Instructor Qualifications

New Zealand Snowboard Instructor - SBINZ Level 2

Level 2 of the SBINZ is what you need if you want to work internationally as a snowboard instructor. It's a five-day exam during which candidates are expected to demonstrate that they can teach carving on intermediate terrain and basic freestyle tricks such as switch riding on intermediate terrain, ollies, nose rolls and 180s (backside and frontside).

Employment: In most countries (ex. France and Italy)


SBINZ Snowboard Instructor Qualifications

Freestyle Accreditation Level 1

The first of two SBINZ freestyle accreditations, Level 1 was developed to allow candidates to teach freestyle snowboarding in and out of the park. Tricks-wise, the riding standards involve straight airs (forwards and switch), various grabs, 180s and 360s (both front- and back-side) plus clean hop turns & 360s in the pipe and grinding basic rails. It is a three-day course that is probably the most fun-filled and constructive three days you will every experience!
