BASI Snowboarding Instructor Qualifications

Méribel, in the heart of the Three Valleys in France, is SnowSkool’s base for its European snowboard instructor courses. On this course, instructor trainees will go for the the snowboard qualifications of the British Association of Snowboard Instructors (BASI). The course provides training up to the BASI Level 2 standard. Armed with this qualification, candidates can teach snowboarding internationally ... and because snow school work experience is a requirement for all BASI courses (even at the lowest level), BASI qualifications are very well respected by the International Snowboard Instructors’ Alliance (ISIA).

Case Study: Instructor

Duncan McCool

From: UK
Qualifications: BASI Snowboard Level 1,2 & ISIA.

"I grew up riding my local hill in Scotland and was soon competing in national and international competitions (Boardercross was my strong event). It is a strange system in France where there is no pre-specified number of FIS points required to get your ticket but I applied and, fortunately, I was accepted! I am now working for a British Ski & Board School in Courchevel six months per year and as a boat skipper in Scotland for the summer months."
