Snowboard Instructor Qualifications in Canada
SnowSkool snowboard instructor courses in Canada offer the qualifications of the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI). An active member of the International Ski Instructors' Alliance (ISIA) - the regulatory body which governs snowsport instructors internationally - the qualifications offered by SnowSkool & CASI are recognised internationally and can lead to you gaining work as a snowboard instructor throughout the world. CASI ensures that a national standard of safe and efficient snowboard instruction is maintained to serve the Canadian snowboarding public and the snowboarding industry.
CASI Level 1 Snowboard Instructor
The three-day CASI Level 1 snowboard instructor exam is split into two main parts - riding and teaching - and candidates have to pass both to gain the qualification. As well as demonstrating an ability to snowboard with good technique and control on intermediate terrain, candidates must also show that they can organise and plan a snowboard lesson for beginner to early intermediate snowboarders.

CASI Level 2 Snowboard Instructor
The four-day CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor exam is also split into two parts - riding and teaching – and success requires a consistent effort throughout the duration of the SnowSkool snowboard instructor course as the CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor qualification separates the women from the girls! In terms of snowboarding, candidates will have to demonstrate more advanced snowboarding techniques in different terrains - moguls, terrain park and crud - as well as advanced carving technique. Candidates will also have to display an aptitude to teach particular snowboarding skills such as switch riding, intermediate carving and advanced sliding turns. Proficiency in the park is not examined.
