TRAIN AS A SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR IN MONTANA

TRAIN DURING THE SUMMER HOLS AND GET BACK FOR UNI!

SnowSkool is heading Stateside and we are not stopping until we get to Big Sky which offers the “Biggest Skiing in America” and BIG is a word that you’ll come across regularly in this behemoth of a ski resort…and not just because of the waistlines of the locals! We are more talking about the big terrain - 5500 acres of riding over three separate mountains. We are also talking about the big vertical - America’s second largest vertical drop (4350ft). And, let’s not forget the big snowfall – 400 inches (or 35ft as we know it!) of the precious falls every winter over the 150+ slopes that make up Big Sky. Bigger is better!

In spite of the major draws of Big Sky, lift lines are non-existent even in the busiest weeks up at Big Sky. The resort claims that there is an average of one snowboarder per two acres of terrain at Big Sky - whatever the case, there’s plenty of elbow room!

Big Sky Snowboarder

On the teaching side of things, SnowSkool only provides the most highly-qualified instructors to teach the snowboard course. ALL SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS ASSIGNED TO THE SNOWSKOOL PROGRAMME WILL BE AASI LEVEL 3 SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS – this is ISIA Level, the highest level available in the AASI system and equivalent to CASI (Canadian) Level 4. Snowboard lessons take place Monday to Friday (inclusive) for five hours each day so your snowboarding will improve dramatically.

Finally, SnowSkool accommodation is slope-side – a home from home ideal for those on a long snowboard instructor course – with free access to a gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzis, saunas and spa.

If that isn’t enough, then there’s no pleasing you! Apart from the hard-to-explain…spending a season in Big Sky is not all about the luxury accommodation, deep powder and steep terrain. There is something magical about being in the Wild West. Big Sky is in Yellowstone National Park and that is a place that you will never forget!

AASI Snowboard Qualifications

Trainees on the SnowSkool Big Sky snowboard instructor course will be training for and sitting the Level 1 and Level 2 snowboard instructor exams of the AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) – this is the level at which you can teach snowboarding throughout the world.

As well as the snowboard instructor exams, you will spend one week experiencing work as a snowboard instructor with the Snowboard School. No you don’t get paid, but this work experience will help you pass your Level 2 exam and look great on your CV. Who else do you know that has taught snowboarding in Montana?

The AASI Freestyle Snowboarding Accreditation exam is also available on the SnowSkool Big Sky course.
