If Carlsberg made snowboard courses...!

Become a snowboard instructor in Banff

If a beer company was allowed to design an instructor course…they would base it on the SnowSkool twelve-week Banff snowboard instructor course - the most popular of the most popular of the most popular! SnowSkool has been operating snowboard instructor courses in Banff since 2004 and we employ many of the same snowboard instructors today that we did all those years ago. Why mess with success, huh?!?

All snowboard instructors assigned to teach the SnowSkool snowboard instructor course are either seasoned CASI Level 3 or Level 4 snowboard instructors. And, given you will spend 20+ hours per week under their supervision, we are confident of maintaining our 100% pass rate for the CASI Level 1 snowboard instructor qualification.

Although you will spend most of your time snowboarding, students of the Banff snowboard instructor course will soon learn there is even more fun to be had after ripping up the slopes. Banff is the ideal location for a SnowSkool snowboard instructor course and SnowSkool posts a number of reps in Banff to ensure all students make the most of their time in Banff. Off-slope activities include trips to the hot springs, basketball and football tournaments, jam sessions in the on-site pub, fancy dress parties, ice-hockey matches, quiz nights, bingo nights DVD nights, ice-climbing, bar crawls, 10-pin bowling, casino nights and much, much more.

Who goes on this course?

Who wants to become a snowboard instructor

This is the course for the young, free and single ... typically we have lots of University grads and school leavers. The course has a great community-feel: we’re a big group that rides, socialises and eats together in a Lodge.

If you'd like to become a snowboard instructor in Banff, we would recommend a minimum of three weeks on-snow experience. This may not seem like a lot but the course is 12 weeks in length, so you'll get lots of on-snow time to build up your riding skills. On top of this, because of the numbers on the course, we can split riders into experience-related groups. In a typical year there will be a range of experience from those with a number of seasons under their belt to those with only three weeks’ on-snow experience.

Banff's for you - right? If not, check out one of our other snowboard instructor courses.

SnowSkool Case Study - Nick Coates

“After Uni I knew I wanted to gain my snowboard instructor qualifications and the SnowSkool Banff course particularly appealed because of the sick riding at Sunshine and the kicking nightlife in and around Banff - these were the two main points on my checklist! My season with SnowSkool was unbelievable – fun & laughter, so much snow, new friends and a spot of romance! Since completing my course I've worked as a rep for SnowSkool in Banff and in France."
