Who goes on this ski course?

Instructor trainees on the SnowSkool NZ skiing instructor course range from 18 to 35 years old. Many people on the course have just finished school or graduated from University and are on a gap year ... or gap few years.
To have a good chance of successfully passing your NZSIA level 2 ski instructor exams during the SnowSkool 10 week programme, you'll have to join this programme as a pretty competent skier. The best guide is to state that you must be a good parallel skier on red runs.
Given that the course runs during the northern hemisphere "off-season", the course is ideal for those looking to begin work in November, at the start of the northern hemisphere winter.
If you've got this far, surely you're convinced that New Zealand's for you ... but if not, find out about SnowSkool's other ski instructor training courses.

Ski Qualifications in New Zealand
NZSIA Level 1 & Level 2 Ski Instructor

The starting point for every budding ski instructor in New Zealand is Level 1 of the NZSIA (New Zealand Ski Instructors’ Alliance). As an entry-level qualification you can work in New Zealand with your Level 1. However, if you wish to broaden your horizons and work internationally, you need to be aiming for the NZSIA level 2 ski instructor qualification. This is all part of the SnowSkool skiing instructor course. It's not an easy road to travel but success gives you a qualification that's highly respected throughout the world.

SnowSkool Case Study
Adam Moore, 22, SnowSkool New Zealand, 2008.

“I chose NZ for my skiing instructor course because I could fit it in without taking a full gap-year after University ... and I chose SnowSkool because it ticked all the boxes (excellent training programme, great accommodation and awesome hill). However, I mostly chose SnowSkool because I just got a good feel for the company. My season in NZ was amazing - Wanaka is just amazing, I made some great friends and I passed my Level 2. I've been working as a Primary School Teacher for the last few years but have just spent another season back in NZ with the SnowSkool 20011 course - can't get enough!”
