All the SnowSkool experience & all the luxury...condensed!
Can’t make the whole ski season in Big White but still want to train to become a ski instructor? Not a problem…SnowSkool’s five-week short ski instructor course will enable you to make significant improvements in your skiing and pick up the CSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor qualification. Many people use the five-week ski instructor courses as a way to improve their skiing technique - learning the biomechanics of skiing and thinking like a ski instructor will enable you to teach skiing and analyse your own ski technique for many seasons to come.
The five-week ski instructor course in Big White is the first five weeks of the eleven-week ski instructor course and so you will be skiing, training, eating and après-skiing with the larger group. You will also benefit from the SnowSkool’s luxury apartments with private hot-tubs, swimming pools, gyms and complete ski-in / ski-out access!

Who goes on this course?

The short instructor course in Big White attracts the oldest average age group of all the SnowSkool courses. As well as those on extended breaks from the office (who can't stretch to 11-weeks) there are those who are looking to kick-start a longer winter season in Canada.
To have the best chance of succeeding in your ski instructor exam in five weeks, we look for four weeks on-snow experience – or the ability to ski a blue run with good speed and control.
Finally, everyone who does our 5-week course wishes they could have stayed longer ... can you stretch to a longer course? Check out another SnowSkool ski instructors course.
CSIA Ski Qualifications
CSIA Level 1 & Level 2 Ski Instructors

For those on the 5-week skiing instructor training programme, the Level 1 is what you'll come away with - which entitles you to instruct in resorts across Canada as well as throughout the USA and in Australia, Japan, Andorra, Bulgaria and the dry-slopes and snowdomes in the UK.
In addition to gaining a ski instructor qualifications, skiers on the 5-weeker will improve their all-round skiing ability through the intensive training provided by the instructors at Big White.

Ski Instructor Training Holidays!
Louise Forster, 30, SnowSkool Big White 2008

“I originally booked the 11-week skiing instructor training programme but the boss did a U-turn and cancelled my extended leave. I spoke to SnowSkool and they were cool with my new situation and offered me the option of transferring onto the 11-week 2009 programme or dropping down to the 5-week 2008 programme, which I did. I had an amazing time in Big White – the course ran really smoothly and the accommodation was unreal. My skiing improved loads.”
