Ski & Snowboard Instructor Courses in
Canada, France and New Zealand
Our instructor training courses range in length from four to fourteen weeks and all courses lead to participants gaining their ski instructor qualifications or their snowboard instructor qualifications. The duration of your course determines how many qualifications you will be able to pick up.
BECOME A SKI OR SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR
SnowSkool has been operating ski and snowboard instructor training courses since 2003 and, during that time, we have added regularly to the portfolio of resorts with whom we work. We are now very proud to be able to offer the opportunity for you to train to become a ski instructor or to train to become a snowboard instructor in three different continents and over two different ski seasons - ensuring that we should have a course that suits your individual requirements.
Qualification
Short Instructor Courses last for either four weeks (Canada) or five weeks (Canada and New Zealand) and provide the tuition for you to sit the entry level qualification of either the CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance), CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) or NZSIA (New Zealand Snowsport Instructors' Alliance).
In Canada, the qualifications on offer during SnowSkool's short courses are:
• CSIA Level 1 Ski Instructor
• CASI Level 1 Snowboard Instructor
In New Zealand, the qualifications on offer during SnowSkool's short courses are:
• NZSIA CSI (Certificate of Snowsport Instruction)
These qualifications are roughly of the same standard and can lead to you getting a job as a ski instructor or a job as a snowboard instructor in the country where the qualification was obtained.
Qualification
SnowSkool's season-long instructor training courses last for 10 weeks (New Zealand), 11 weeks (Big White, Canada), 12 weeks (Three Valleys, France) and 14 weeks (Banff, Canada). As well as providing you with the tuition required to sit the second stage examination of either the CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance), CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors), NZSIA (New Zealand Snowsport Instructors' Alliance) or, in France, BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors), the longer courses give you more scope for exploring the mountains and enjoying the enviable life of a seasonnaire. On top of the ski instructor qualifications and snowboard instructor qualifications, SnowSkool also provides participants on its season-long courses the opportunity to get other qualifications: freestyle or race coach, first-aid or Avalanche Awareness certifications, as well as ski or snowboard at other nearby resorts, take a heli-skiing or cat-skiing trip and generally immerse yourself in the ski-resort lifestyle.
In Canada, the qualifications on offer during SnowSkool’s season-long courses are:
• CSIA Level 1 and Level 2 Ski Instructor
• CASI Level 1 and Level 2 Snowboard Instructor
• CSCF Race Coach
• CSIA Park & Pipe Coach
