Banff is well-known as a Canadian ski and snowboard Mecca for snow enthusiasts from all around the world, Banff attracts a lot of young people keen to take advantage of the wonderful array of skiing/ riding – averaging 33ft of snow per year, Sunshine Village receives more snow than any other resort in Canada and has the longest season running from mid-November until mid-May - and to make the most of the Rocky Mountain resort town and its great nightlife. The SnowSkool Banff instructor training programme appeals to all walks of life but is a favourite for those looking to become a ski instructor or to become a snowboard instructor on a gap year after school or after university.
The 14 Week Course
For the 2008/ 09 season, SnowSkool has extended its ski and snowboard instructor training programme from 11 weeks to 14 weeks. The primary motivation for this is to ensure that you make the most of Sunshine Village’s long ski season. In this way, we are giving you the opportunity to get more mileage on your skis/ snowboard, have more time to freeski/ freeride, practice your drills/ exam technique, check out other ski hills nearby (Lake Louise, Kicking Horse, Fernie) and to obtain more qualifications: CSIA Snowpark Certificate, CASI Park Instructor, CSCF Race Coach, First Aid Qualification, Avalanche Awareness Certificate.Courses in Banff
